I think that automatically running 'make gconfig' or whatever if DISPLAY
is set is a bad idea and I think the user should be asked. Personally I
find menuconfig to be a better choice and I think that the user should
be prompted for which ever configuration tool they want. Maybe if
DISPLAY is set it can ask for the gtk/qt frontend?
