our setup for qtdir is slightly non-standard I think, the standard is to have
all of qt (libs, bins and includes) under the general path $QTDIR.
If you manually edit the correct files i the kernel scripts dir (can't
remember was a few months ago) it will work for you.
My intention was to change our qt spell with the next major version update,
to
both use the /etc/profile.d/* format and install to a uniform prefix, but I
never filed a bug so no-one else knew of my intentions or my reasoning, so it
wasn't done with the last update.
