When I added the /usr/share/config/kdm/Xservers line to
/etc/X11/xdm/Xservers,
the "console login" option was added to the menu and, it worked perfectly
and, the kdm/X did not respawn even after 15-20 minutes.

I had almost forgotten about this post until I thought about using kdm again
tother day. It works, thanks a bunch.

Where yawl at in Australia. I am in Texas. I have been to Sydney many times
when I worked for a living. I am now retired computer programmer/system
analyst/senior systems engineer/systems admin.
