A few days ago I did the init.d update. By and large it was painless,
however, I now have the problem that if I attempt to start a service,
the script hangs, and I need to ctrl-c before it will proceed (and work
fine)

If this problem is unknown, is there a way I can trace the script as it
runs and pin it down? (I had a look, but the new script method is very
different from what I'm used to, but looks good :)

If it makes a difference, I haven't yet rebooted. Having init scripts
work would be a good thing before I do that :)

Something else, given it now isn't as simple to just to
/etc/init.d/servicename start, are there plans for either a place where
symlinks pointing to all the scripts will be, or something akin to
RedHats 'service' command? If not, I might do that latter (it should be
all of a couple of lines).
