Hi,
I converted to /dev/ system last night. Don't completely know whats going on but I ran into trouble.
I can't cast spells because it can't untar them properly, I noticed when I did a sorcery update it mentioned a tar error about not finding /dev/stdin, which doesn't exist. Can someone point me in the right direction??
Cheers, Duane.

I had this problem on my SPARC when building SMGL on it, bootstrapped from Debian.
Here is /a/ fix (thanks to Arwed) (not the proper one, I believe you missed somethingi n your upgrade, perhaps try 'cast -r -c init.d' again and say 'y' to everything, and also try devfsd, after using this fix to get cast working again):
# ln -s /proc/self/fd /dev/fd # ln -s /dev/fd/0 /dev/stdin # ln -s /dev/fd/1 /dev/stdout # ln -s /dev/fd/2 /dev/stderr
