after rebooting, I am in single-user mode. Startx fails with a message

symbol xf86I2CFindDev unresolved symbol in libddc.a

I rebuilt xfree86 against the running kernel, but still no joy

I may have to rebuild the kernel without I2C, as I don't actually need it at
the moment
