cast e3 -> launch:
e3vi - for vi mode
e3pi - for pico mode
e3em - for emacs mode
e3ws - for wordstar mode
e3ne - for nedit mode

And anyway we're talking about an emergency fallback editor with little to
no depends. No way we could get vim into /bin and have it work without
/usr mounted.
