Lawrence,

Karen's comments echo my own thoughts and situation. I have learned a great
deal from monitoring your posts and am particularly interested in Scott's
comments. I completed my PDC with Scott a number of years ago. The dialogue
on permaculture ethics and roots of permaculture is very important.
Although I am a quiet observer (lurker) when you made an appeal for
donations in
the past to help maintain the list, I contributed.

If removed, I will miss your posts greatly. Please consider retaining me..

I am one of the lurkers, but just received Bob’s reply, so I imagine I
haven’t been cut yet. I am here to learn, and find that I often am able to
pass on information I have garnered from the list to others—
Eliminate the bouncers if you will, but I’d like to think I was welcome to
remain, even if I stay nearly always silent.

but purging lurkers makes the list less useful and interesting to those of
us who do post. Part of the reason for participating in a public forum is
to learn and understand, and to help others learn and understand. People
don't post for many reasons, but by simply listening, they play an
important role in the community. Small is less interesting in an internet
discussion group than this. Further, by purging them, we lose the
opportunity of
ever hearing from them.
