Amazing. That's an important thing to remember.
So when planting bare root fruit trees then maybe use bacteria
dominated compost + some rock phosphate, azomite, greensand, quarry rock powders (these will really stimulate earthworm colonization of the
soil; after a while it will look like swiss cheese. Millions of 1/16" to 1/4" holes peppering the surface of the soil. Minimal till with long intermediate periods of no till produce this.
