I am on a trip to the coast and have seen huge agaves everywhere, completely
unused by local farmers.
I therefore did a bit of searching and stumbled across the article (and
lengthy comments) in the url below.

I wonder if anybody here had any comments to add, or had any general
experience on agaves as a permaculture crop.
