I have yet to see a 200 bu per acre yield on "old" practice corn

You are subscribed to the Sustainable Agriculture Network Discussion
Group (SANET). Achieving 200 bu per acre is not sustainable when
your harvest depends on applying concentrated (and expensive)
agrochemicals that reduce the presence, activity and diversity of the
microorganisms responsible for the soil's fertility.

And those kinds of harvests depend on varieties that REQUIRE those
agrochemicals. In fact, agrochemical manufacturers bought a
majority of the seed companies in order to produce seeds that INCREASE
FARMER'S DEPENDENCY on their own toxic, unsustainable, patented products.

and I have a guy here who is just trying to get to 125 by acre on
#1 corn by these practices.

No one here recommends going back in time. Varieties continue to be
developed that do NOT depend on ever-increasing amounts (and cost)
of agrochemicals (some of which are nutritionally far superior to
any of the commercial varieties available today).
