I have no idea, but I would use the precautionary principle and assume the
worst.? Furthermore, it is best to curtail purchases of food that is
travelling that far by unsustainable transportation.? It is certainly hurting
the health of the planet.

Are there risks involved with the consumption of honey imported from South
American and other regions of the World?

I eat a lot of honey bought from the supermarket chains. Its cheap,
accessable
and tasty. I use it on toast and in
coffee. The label says "product of USA and Argentina". Argentina is where
most
agriculture there is GMO with soybean,
probably roundupready, dominating.

Because of the prevalence of conventional agriculture practices in South
America, that is to say GMO, conventional, use
of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, could one expect the
honey
to contain unsafe levels of any
agricultural pesticide, herbicide or GMO pollen residues?
