Crude for November delivery broke $90/barrel today. The stock market shed
about 367 points in response. Economists can't figure out what keeps crude
prices rising. Since Peak Oil is an ecological fact, economic theory
doesn't cover it. There's still a lot of oil, but it's not going to cost
much less than $88/barrel from here on out, at the absolute cheapest, no
matter what we do. The rape and pillage of the boreal forest in Alberta,
Canada which has scraped the trees and soil off an area the size of Florida
already, is just rape and pillage, as senseless as every other rape and
pillage. Some tipping point was reached, and we're over that point, and now
we can't feed the beast anymore. Peak Oil has officially arrived. Since
Iran's oil fields are more functional than Iraq's, look for the bombing to
start as soon as King George and Cheney get it about Peak Oil. Then they'll
send in commandos to seize the oil fields and that will be that. Illegal?
You bet. Does King George care about that?

So now what? This caught US society as unprepared as the worst doomsayer
feared. We are in a Hell of a shape.

Those who predicted this wouldn't happen were just wrong. It's happened,
and it's only going to get worse from here on out. Freight haulers and
airlines were complaining about 200% increases in fuel costs with $80/barrel
oil. Crude was $35/barrel when the Supremes installed Dubya in the White
House in 2001. No one thinks crude has stopped its price rise. No
economist understands the dynamic in play. Few economists have even heard
about systems theory.

Anyone have a plan for this? What an interesting time to be alive, huh?
