I'm not sure why you put this on the list serve - it only links to a

While I don't support the whole biofuels ripoff I was hoping for more data
to support my position, not an advertisement for another ngo.
I thought their website would provide more information. Here is one reply
FWIW,
no idea whether this person's info is accurate:

It is pretty funny to read about someone wanting contributions to promote a
program to expose ethanol as a poor fuel. Nobody thinks ethanol is an
efficient fuel compared to gasoline. It is intended to be an oxygenator and
fuel
extender. It does neither of these well.
Ethanol is a stepping stone toward alternative fuels for the future.
However, the corn used for ethanol production is not human food. After the
ethanol is fermented the remains of the corn used is still a good animal
feed.
Little, if any, feed value is lost and some may be gained.
Ford and GM would just as soon see ethanol go away. They are building
multifuel or flex fuel engines because the government says that they must.
One day the current ethanol plants will be producing bio-butanol which is an
excellent gasoline substitute and fits into the current fuel handling system
well. About that same time various alternative engines will be available
which will be able to consume virtually any combustible liquid or gaseous
fuel
and make the world even better. This is likely in the next 5-10 years.
In the mean time steps are being taken to make on site hydrogen available to
internal combustion engines in order to improve fuel economy and reduce the
pollution from them. This technology is available now and has resulted in 40%
increased fuel economy in some cases. It also virtually eliminates the
particulate and other pollutants from gasoline and diesel engines, both
mobile and
stationary.
