I have tried to stay out of this issue, but I have to say that connecting
Jews and banking has been a coded message since the Middle Ages for
anti-Semitism. It is at the core of the virulent anti-semitism that came out
of Eastern Europe, and was used in the Nazi era to imply that Jews dominated
the economy and were at the root cause of Germany's economic problems. So in
fact implying that Jews have dominated banking is because of historic usage
anti-Semitic. The only kernal of truth in it is that money lending was one
of the only occupation Jews could do in Christian Europe during the Middle
Ages.

I would also suggest that that entire thread got far off of the topic of
Permaculture.

greetings all,
this is my first time writing on this list , and i would just like to state
that i understand the reaction some people have had to the comments posted
by martin and i can see how some individuals could interpret that as racist,
but upon closer inspection he didn't say anything derogatory about people of
jewish heritage. what he stated was that the bankers involved in the
creation of the fed are jewish.
i am of Hispanic decent and if someone calls me hispanic thats not racist
its accurate , so to state that the top tier of banking family's are jewish
isn't racist , because the Rothschild's ARE jewish .that doesn't imply
anything about jewish people in general it only states the truth about a few
mens cultural background.
it's important to not let racism pass us by unnoticed , but we should also
be careful not to wrongfully accuse people who are stating correct
historical information.
i feel that martin contributes alot of informative and helpful posts on this
list and it would be a shame if he stopped.
thanks,
chris mayor
