About food-grade plastic containers: I found this somewhere on the web:
"Tested for mercury and other things. Everything got baked in a walk in oven for an hour. The items had to be enclosed to contain the test vapors. Small items were put in zip lock bags for testing. Tested a package of zip lock baggies by themselves. The bags failed the mercury test."
