Hi Keith
I actually appreciate the political postings - its a vital part of the
reality of the world we need to design and operate in and as dear old Bill
has said many times 'Permaculture by its very nature is political', though
not officially aligned to any specific political ideology or party. Politics
has enormous implications for earth care, people care and fair share - we
can't afford to be ostriches and need our permie political watchdogs to
alert us to good and bad legislations and moves that impact on core ethics
and sustainability.
These are troubling times with the rapid erosion of core social justice
ethics and human rights on top of all the environmental concerns - all these
things are interconnected and as permies we cant afford to ignore what's
going on and seek appropriate ways to respond.
For me as an Australian, the US postings also bring home just how aligned
our respective governments are - we are dealing with the same mindset and
issues - hopefully we can share strategies for proactively countering this
regressive slide into a neo dark-age.
Ciao
Robyn
