Hey, I'm from Australia and actually found that really interesting and worth knowing about as our government is closely (!!) aligned with Bush and currently has a citizen incarcerated at Guatanamo with no current date for a trial after four years and concerns about abuses of his human rights. It has been a huge issue for many Australians as many do not support their current governments stance in unconditionally supporting the US foreign policy and treatment of detainees.

I'm a permie but also percieve myself as 'political' - in fact, just about everything we do has political implications - especially permaculture .... that post fits with 'taking care of people'... doesn't it?

Lots of stuff posted on this group I find completely irrelevant to me due to climate/hemisphere/geographical/priority differences - but it all probably has meaning to someone. I only object to offensive statements and flaming.

Keep 'em coming!

Flick Wright

Let's keep the politics out of here!!!!! Thank you.

Keith Johnson <keithdj@mindspring.com> wrote: The House just passed President Bush's bill to redefine the treatment of
detainees, and the Senate's expected to do the same thing tomorrow.
Buried deep inside this legislation is a provision that will pardon
President Bush and all the members of his administration of any possible
crimes connected with the torture and mistreatment of detainees dated
all the way back to September 11, 2001.
