It seems that people who want to do "the right thing" always want to do more
than they can manage (and stay sane). Most of the people on this list are
probably like that - Save the World! It may be worse for this generation in
light of our real-time awareness of all the World's problems. I think we
need to do some balancing in our lives - do what we can, while still
achieving some pleasure and fulfillment out of life. I guess that's why
humans have always needed religion. We need to believe that some higher
power is in charge, 'cause we just can't fix all that's broke. Just do what
you can..........

On the one hand I feel compelled to do all I can to help control this
situation from my own little piece of the world. On the other hand I feel
compelled to let Nature help me do the best I can to adapt to the changes and
hope that the plants and animals also adapt... what results may be different
than what we currently experience, but sometimes I feel so hopeless about the
whole situation that maybe it's the best we can hope for. to just adapt and
survive in whatever way we can. but there are so many species who won't
survive without help, and maybe then only for a short time. maybe i have my
head in the sand... and i'm ambivalent, I know. but i certainly do have a
"wild zone" for the animals who choose to make it home or sanctuary.
