Does anyone know of any information resources that
document successful challenge to enforcement of septic
system requirements for development of raw land? The
group I am involved with is getting closer to
establishing a co-housing community on land held in
trust by Ozark Regional Land Trust, but we want to use
composting toilets (the Humanure type) and don't want
to invest thousands of dollars for an inferior system
(septic) that won't be used.
We want to be able to present hard evidence to the
code enforcers that there is precedent for the
substitution of composting toilets in lieu of septic
systems.
John Fritz, NW Arkansas.
