G'day Frank,
I trust that this greets you and all well.
I use a Garmin Etrex Vista C GPS to do farm mapping when doing site
analysis. I use it to mark fences, areas of significance, etc. etc. When
driving the tractor driving I use it to tell me my ground speed and it also
records my path and distance covered etc. Also has an internal barometric
altimeter to tell you elevation enabling contour map production (with mixed
results). Great little tool. I then plug the GPS into the computer usb port
and then convert the data into a MapInfo compatible format using some
shareware called Garfile. Then the data comes up to scale in MapInfo. Pretty
easy really.
Yours and Growing,
