Yes Colin, it must be vinegar fly, sorry about that.
So does it all comes down to maintaining the container drier?
I have noticed that by mixing dry paper with the (de)composting material
they use their surface as a place where
to stay while they are in their larval state. Actually the seem to be fond
of any "solid" flat surface, be it organic or not (container walls)
