- Subject: [permaculture] Cover crop question
- Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2003 11:38:17 -0400
hello all,
I've got a plot of buckwheat that is now flowering on a piece of pretty lousy ground. I want to cut it before it goes to seed and put in a rye/vetch cover crop for the winter. I was thinking of sowing my rye/vetch seeds then just scything the buckwheat and letting it lay over the newly sown seed. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions one way or the other?
Thanks,
Scott Vlaun,
