We are nestled in the Noosa hinterland on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland,
about an hour's drive north of Brisbane and two hours south of the Great
Barrier Reef.
The climate is sub-tropical, rarely getting below five degrees c on a
winter's night, and often getting above 40 c during summer's days.
Good rainfall, red lava soil, old growth and regenerating rainforest
everywhere, lots of dairy and cane fields around, lots of new farms opening
up with new crops like bamboo and aquaculture, and a very active Permaculture
Noosa group with a good clan of like minded souls -
http://www.permacult.com.au/noosa The local council has its feral
councillors on both sides of politics, but its predominantly green.
The resort towns of Noosa and Maroochydore provide some culture when we get
cabin fever. Its pretty much like living in a salad bowl with surf beaches
close by.
