Kirby,

Having read your posts for a while, I feel you as a person, for the first
time. I too lost a partner to the glitz and drama this past summer. She
finally admitted that she had no intention of moving 'way out there' after
posturing otherwise for a year and a half. I wasn't surprised, because I'd
always felt this underlying discomfort coming from her. I kept hanging in
there, talking, explaining, hoping. Finally the only thing I could say to
myself was, "at least we have great sex, and so it's worth it". Then I
realized trading my life and direction for great sex was not worth it and I
pulled the plug. It was very disappointing. Ever since she refuses to talk
or e-mail. I miss her little girl and I miss the sex (not with the little
girl, but with the mother -- just to be clear).

'Way out there' was 45 minutes from an urban center, Asheville, which to me
is too, too close, but represented a compromise. But only in my mind. I
feel for you, but you are not alone, not by a long shot. Hold your
intention, the Universe will respond (truly). Thank you for your words. We
are all in this together. We are one people, one heart.

Your place sounds absolutely beautiful. Sometime I'd like to visit (but
shit, you are way the fuck over there -- I dread driving the 5 miles to
town). I'll manage.

Namaste, John
