a vote for a Green is

In my opinion you should only count your vote as wasted when you do not vote your conscience.  I am a Green party member, and I was extremely disappointed in the spinelessness of Greens during the last Presidential election.  Nader had enough supporters to qualify for federal campaign  funds for the party, but when it came time to vote many were too scarred that not voting for Gore would allow Bush to win.  Well, I understand this fear, but now we are in a situation where Bush is President anyway and the Greens lost out on those funds.

By stating that a vote for Greens is a waste of a vote simply makes it so.  If less
people shared that belief we might start seeing the party gaining some ground.    I don't expect to see a Green President anytime soon, but it will only come about when many people agree to stay with this party for the long haul.   When Greens stop crossing party lines in elections and our true number becomes known more people who have been scared to join such a small group (because it is a waste) may find themselves registering (and hopefully voting) Green.
