Aloha,
Anyone aware of current efforts to invite Afghanis to consider
adopting/adapting PC methods and systems in the rebuilding of their
life support systems? There was some discussion of this during and
after our bombing them, etc....anything going on?
Others with somewhat different approaches are getting their licks in.
A few months ago a group of 30+ US businessmen and related advisors and
"experts" were personally invited by the Afghan ambassador to the US to
meet with Harzai and his ministers/cabinet (they spent about a week in
Afghanistan). Harzai is literally asking them to show the Afghan govt.
how to "stay out of the way" of foriegn investment. There was an
"agriculture expert" in the group, as well as telecom, etc.
It would be great if PC could offer some alternatives to the economic
colonization of their country as their "only option" after 20+ years of
devastation - even if only for a few folks here and there to start
with. If they're interested, of course - "work where wanted."
Hopefully,
John S.
