busias orientalis is a great perennial brassicaceae (european native) for
that, also comfrey is greedily eaten. both (as well as others) are best
protected, try a strip of a-shape bent stell mesh (the stuff people without
ample bamboo in the garden use for reinforcing concrete floors). have a look
