First thought:

dandelion, sorrel, clover as (in) natural prairie
Introduce some goodies like
kale, (generally cruciferae), maize, and grain plants
sunseeker
If you do not harvest, they will mostly self seed
(not all plants if the warm season is too short)

Seedlings of some yealy or two yearly plants might have to be protected in
the beginning

Get some bushes and trees for berries: black currant, blueberries, rowan,
hagthorn, apple, (generally rosacea)

think it is reckonned that one chicken needs 10 m2 pasture, for the pasture
to survive grazing,
less surface can be compensated by tree gardening (the bushes and trees as
berry source in the fall, and bug repository)
or you can define chicken tractor areas for cultures
