Hello Guy,
Try wrapping the portion of the poles you place into the ground with a heavy sealed plastic with a length of hose pipe to the bottom of the pole.

After tamping the soil around the pole, fill the hose pipe with sump oil from any machinery. This should prolong the life of the poles indefinately and topping up the sump oil should only need to be done every 12 months or so.

Good luck.

The cement tank issue is quite interesting, thanks.

Can anyone give me a natural/safe/cheap solution to protect wooden
poles from humidity ?

The poles we use for refugees shelters have to be replaced frequently
in tropical areas because the underground part rots.

Asante (thanks). Guy
