Absolutely. And we now have a global breeding program selecting for plants
that can mature seed rapidly after being hit with herbicide!
Star thistle is a Centaurea- batchelor button/knapweed thing- a composite,
like true thistle.
I have a working thesis that all really tough weeds have great value in
properly done compost; the trick is how to do it and not propagate them.
