Just a few thoughts on this. What about going through the Small Business
Development Center's Leading Edge programs through the Office of Economic
Development? Leading Edge Entrepreneur and start-up courses use the
NXLevel programs in more than 26 states at this time. Materials are
customized by each instructor to best meet the needs of locality and to
incorporate 'real life' experience into the classes.
Leading Edge is ALWAYS looking for new courses to offer and accept
materials from outside. Leading Edge is the umbrella under which
state-funded entrpreneur training is housed. Some of the programs they've
offered in CO include an alternative ag course (Tilling the soil of
opportunity), a course for art entrepreneurs (Art Works), an internet
Masters Course that is available to all levels of internet experience and
an environmental course (Greening your business). The program courses are
geared to help start-up business by providing them with skills necessary to
execute viable plans. More than 3,000 businesses have participated in
these specialized training programs and instruction is provided over a 10
to 14 week period dependant upon the format.
Couldn't this be an avenue for educational opportunities regarding small
business and permaculture? The funding is there. I have a direct contact
for Leading Edge in CO: Christina Haney, Director, Business Programs, her
e-mail: christina.haney@state.co.us. I'm sure she could direct you to any
other single point of contact for the Leading Edge Program. I believe it
would be wonderful if someone would take this opportunity by the hand to
deliver a quality educational program on permaculture.
Blessings,
Ava
