There is a strong movement here in NE Brazil of using rocok dust as a soil
ammendment for micro elements ( our soils are ancient and very poor here in
these...) Some do use granite dust, others basalt, but now there is a
commercial product made of a combination of two exceedingly rich stones:
macaxita and serpentinita ( name in Eglish), which, between them , have
virtually all the micros, including a good portion of silicia , which
apparently is very important for plant health ( I am not well-versed in this
yet). I do know that using a combination of this rock dust and rock
phosphate ( which we have here available), and a fermented "soup"of manure ,
herbs, and these rock dusts, farmers are being able to get off chemicals
immediately with virtually no production loss...
