It may be important to draw a distinction between Guerilla Gardening and
what it's really starting to sound like, which ought to be called "Terrorist
Gardening," as distinguished by taking hostage, raising a ruckus, claiming
victory and 'responsibility,' and leaving. I think of GG more as a covert
activity that doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself, which allows plants
to take hold and provide food for a while before authorities notice. Why
attract attention, if you want your plants to stay? I've sometimes thought
of covertly starting bamboo in the pine woods around me, and seeing how long
it took to take over. (Indigenous species, of course)

I think you've missed the point -- the Reclaim the Street 'guerilla
gardening' action is political theatre, not gardening. As permaculture, it
needs to be thought of primarily in the 'peoplecare/fair shares' range of
the spectrum. ..
