Done.

I bought 6 rootstocks for this project, 3 each of G11 and M7. I gave one G11
to a friend. They have all sprouted now, except for one G11, which I suspect
to be dead. Hmm, I should probably contact the seller about that.

I "warmed up" by grafting branches to some seedling crabs that I've let grow
in the yard. I was happy with the mechanical contact I got between the
cambium of the two branches. We shall see if it works.

Then I grafted twigs to 3 of the rootstocks I bought. I grafted 3 dormant
buds to the remaining living rootstock. It's MUCH harder to handle buds when
you can't hold the stem of a leaf you just clipped off, but I stripped all
the leaves immediately after cutting the wood, so it wouldn't dry out.
Despite the difficulty, I managed a clean graft of the 3rd bud without
touching or dropping the chip or the cut part of the stock. The first one was
reasonably clean, too. (I had a lot of trouble with the second.)

I wrapped the rest of the wood in some damp paper towel, and put it in a
ziplock bag in the back of the fridge. I hope to collect fresh wood later in
the season, to try bud grafting again, but who knows when and if we will get
back there.
