Fascinating thread, my first thought was maybe the ambient humidity is too
low for the pawpaws to prosper..... But I see you said someone in the area
has had success with them.
re germinating pawpaw—as a rule I get 80% + success germinating seed, I
just stratify in peat in the fall, and once the greenhouse stays above
freezing in the spring I move the bags into the greenhouse. Seed that
doesn't germinate in a couple months I hold on to and the majority of it
will germinate the following year.
