A couple of possibilities "came to me in the night"
1) Bees tend to focus on one type blossom for awhile. If so and the
population of Kiwi blossoms is small, the bees may not bother with them until
the plant(s) have grown enough to have a critical mass of blossoms.
2) Advise received for planting flowers to encourage native pollinators is
to plant the flowers of the same color in clusters...to make a bee-trip to
that location worth the effort.
Does this make sense?
