OGW has offered a female self-fertile kolomikta in previous years, although
they waffle a bit on the description.

I lost  kolomikta in sunny locations as well.  Have one surviving female in
shaded situation.

On the contrary, Dave.  Though I can't cite any off the top of my head, there
seems to be ample anecdotal evidence (mine now included) that "male" kolos
can and do produce fruits, however small and insignificant.

I was reading up on chip-budding and the article I saw indicated that
Actinidia (kiwi) could be
chip-budded.

I wonder if you could grow the Argutas on a rootstock of Kolomikta. If that
works, you might be
able to use the existing roots to grow another variety, and possibly dwarf
the Argutas.

Just thinking out loud, so to speak ...I mean, write.

Dan
