Deb..We don't get fire bight. We do get scab. Big Time. Williams Pride and Goldrush grow very clean.
I pick Williams pride around the first week of August. Gold Rush is a month out from now. It also stays on the tree for a long time.

Hi Dan

Williams Pride and Goldrush are both on my short list.  I'm in zone 6, but our growing season is variable...this year it's VERY long, but hard to guess from year to year.

Are these apples as disease resistant as promised?  Any trouble with fire blight?

Deb. I grow a few PRI apples. Goldrush, WilliamsPride, Enterprise, and Sir Prize. All taste good to me except Enterprise. It's OK. Nothing great. Goldrush has to be grown in a area with a long growing season.

I've got apples on the brain lately!

I'm wondering what experiences folks have had with the newer disease resistant cultivars like Crimson* or PRI*.  They sound good for growing but what about taste?
