Jim,
If you were on the coast, many of the cultivars that work well are available via Raintree nursery.
 
In response to a similar question someone on NAFEX (bless him, I've forgotten who) informed me of Nick Botner at Spearheart Farm & Orchard. If you would like scionwood, he has an amazing list from which to choose -- 14 pages worth of apples, pears, plums, cherries and grapes. King, among them.
