Found some in a Middle Eastern market here and planted a berry in a flower pot, The seeds sprouted. Wrong time of year, though (fall), and they damped off;

Today I went shopping at The Spanish Table in Berkeley. I've never been to Spain so I'm not really familiar with the foodways there. One thing that surprised me was that you could buy dried Turkish mulberries there. They appear to be Morus alba because they are very light even when dried. I'm not a big fan of Morus alba (I prefer Morus nigra) but drying concentrates the flavor. They were pleasant and lightly sweet, and a bit chewy.
