I'd be careful of strains of any apple which "ripens sooner". Usually that
means
they just color sooner, so you can pick them and sell them before they're
ripe.
That said, the healthiest, biggest trees I've ever bought came from Van
Well's, and
for a good price. That was almost 20 years ago though; I didn't buy again,
because they've got commercial West Coast stuff. However, I STILL get their
mailings, so don't contact them unless you want to be on a permanent mailing
list!
