In at least some citrus, the apomictic seedlings are thornless, while the sexually produced seedlings have thorns. I grew out seedlings of a Poncirus trifoliata x Pommelo hybrid and all were thornless. The hybrid was one from Florida which had proven a dead end in breeding because it would produce nothing but apomictic seedlings.

I believe that they will produce apomictic seeds as you describe for mango, at least that's what I think citrus does. Apomictic seedlings also must go through a juvenile phase before beginning to bear fruit, just as sexual seedlings must.
