>I have a pecan that has inedible nuts. The husks
never release from the nuts and the nuts are very bitter. You
have a hican, in this case a bitternut pecan cross. What a pity.
Some occur naturally, some are sold as landscaping trees Or, you could have C.aquatica, commonly known as ‘bitter pecan’ –
or a hybrid of C.aquatica and C.illinoensis, which might well have the
astringency that is not uncommon with pecan hybrids with C.aquatica or
C.cordiformis(bitternut hickory) Lucky |
