Snowing hard this morning but not sticking to ground. This winter
just will not die. The Scout apricot I bought last spring made it
through the winter with no damage I can see except some of the twig
ends died. Just a half inch. Buds are not swelling. I'm interested
to see if I get any apricots. Anyone growing Scout? I was reluctant
to buy it but the nursery insisted it would live in zone 3. Deer
nipped the twig ends off most of the apple trees. Just like big
rats. My neighbor didn't harvest his soybean field last fall and
there are over 100 deer in his field. Saw a timber wolf near the
field. Wolves know where the deer are. Deer will be surprised when
I get the electric fence up.
