My wife likes the idea of planting by the moon, so she plants potatoes
around Good Friday (full moon) and also plants other things according to
the sign of the moon that is appropriate according to the Farmer's
almanac and other references. I go along with it because it is an easy
way to schedule the weeks to plant the various seeds for the things that
we will be transplanting into the garden this spring and summer. I
haven't paid attention to what the "proper" moon is for grafting, but
this discussion makes me wish I had better records of the dates that I
have grafted in the last few years and see if there is any correlation
between my rate of success and the phase of the moon.
