My loquat seedlings have survived outside in the ground with temps at night down around 10F. This is extreme for Seattle and only lasts for 1 or 2 weeks, then its back to lows in the 20-40F range for the rest of the winter.

We get several frosts every year. Once in awhile it even freezes. The Loquats don't seem to mind a bit. I wonder how cold it really needs to be before they have trouble. I'm betting they can take temps down into the 20s without it hurting them.
