My experience has been if you have squirrels you don't get apricots.

Yeah, I figured. So far, my experience is that if I don't keep the critters away, I don't get ANYTHING. Of course, last year was probably an atypical year, but I was able to pick nothing that wasn't securely netted and fenced.

PS. When I first got this apricot tree it regularly bloomed in February over
the years it has started to bloom later to the point that it is currently
booming.

Now that's really interesting! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it happens here, too.

Last year, after a very warm March, my Goldcot apricot bloomed profusely, starting March 26. Then that hard April freeze hit. This year, it's been a cool spring, and it's still not blooming.

However, the buds were showing a lot of white a week ago. They looked like they'd be blooming in a day or two. Then we had some very cool weather, with lows at night just below freezing (down to 29° one night) and cold during the days, too. Nothing happened, except that some of the buds looked worse and worse every day. Last night, it dropped to 24° - but I'd tried to cover the tree with sheets, once the wind died down, and I put a couple of 150 W. lights in the tree. I don't know. A lot of buds look pretty bad, and I knocked off a bunch more with the sheets, but I think I might get some blooming yet.

The squirrels will probably be glad to hear that! :-)
