"R.F. Hollaus, do you know the age of the leaf-curl resistant

peach trees to start getting leaf curl.  Don't ask me how this
happened, but I wonder if it normally takes some age before it
starts showing up."
Mark, Yes I do know something about the age now.
I called the lady for specifics. It was a nectarine which
had over fruited by the 4th year or so but never had leaf
curl up to that point until after that. Her story is the
same, I remember it clearer now. The excess fruit must have
stressed the tree enough to start a bout with curl to which
then she got an education what and when to spray it with.
-This 2 or 3 years later the tree is under control even
though her health keeps her from spraying it any more. The
only thing that seems to concern her is not having as much
fruit as before and on what is happening to the honey bees
and their declining population.
Because of age she can't do what she used to so now nobody
will be spraying which might not be a problem as the tree
gets more mature. It will be interesting to find out what
happens there come spring because another thing uaually
happens that when a tree gets past a critical age that for
some reason they usually improve again.
