Hi Jim,

Your advice on cane borer has been helpful, but I'm not sure crown borers
are as sealed inside the plants as cane borers. I think there may be holes
for the insecticide to flow into. Personally, I've not read about drenching
the roots, but about drenching the soil, with insecticide which kills the
larva as it tries to pupate and hatch in the soil. I think a root drench
might work, but unless they are transplanted a long way from any other
brambles, the moths will probably just come right back. But as I say it's
all a mute point anyway unless you have an applicators license.
